Rough clean: the house stops being a dust box
For general contractors and homebuilders, after drywall finishing and trim and before paint and flooring. Paint and flooring go in over a house that is swept and wiped.
What's in it
Scrap, drywall off-cuts, tape and packaging bagged and staged for your dumpster
Subfloor, stairs and slab swept and vacuumed
Sills, ledges, closet shelves and the inside of cabinet boxes wiped
Window tracks and door frames vacuumed
A text with photos of each room when we leave

How a rough clean is priced by size
The rate per square foot drops as the house grows. Your written number lists your own lot.
Under 1,800 sq ft
Townhomes, duplex units and small single-family homes. Setup is the same for a small house, so the rate per foot is higher.
1,800–3,500 sq ft
Most production homes. The crew's day is planned around this size.
Over 3,500 sq ft
Custom homes. More rooms and stairs to count, a lower rate per foot.
How a rough clean goes
- 01
Step 1: Your super picks the day
Usually the day after drywall sanding, before the painters. We book it against your schedule.
- 02
Step 2: The lead checks the site
Power, water, access and where the bags go. Anything missing, the lead calls your super before starting.
- 03
Step 3: Debris out, then dust, then floors
Top floor down. We vacuum before we wipe, so dust isn't pushed from room to room.
- 04
Step 4: A text, with photos
When we leave, your super gets photos of each room and a note on anything the crew couldn't reach.
What we need first, and what we leave to the trades
Before we arrive
Drywall finishing and sanding done
Power and a working outlet on site
A dumpster or a curb spot for the bags
A lockbox or your super on site; the code by text, never by form
What we don't do
Haul debris off the site
Scrape dried paint, mortar or adhesive
Mold, asbestos or silica-dust work
Work on roofs, scaffolds or lifts
Questions about this stage
Does the rough clean come before or after paint?
Before. Most of our builders book it after drywall finishing, so paint and flooring go onto a cleaner house.
Do I need a rough clean on every house?
No. If the house is already swept and the dust is low, go straight to a final clean. The quote says so.
Who takes the bags away?
You do, from the spot we stage them. Haul-off in our truck can be a separate line on the quote.
